Week 47 - Pray for our investigators

6/27/16

So this week was a crazy week.... difficulties. This week was the holiday of São João and every one was traveling, drinking and partying. WE suffered and prayed and fasted for all of our investigators that were possible to be baptized this week. The hard thing was that day after day no one was home when we passed by. It was hard to do contacts and make new investigators cause no one was in the street and if they were it was all the drunk people, or they didn’t want to hear us. At the end of the week we didn’t have a baptism, but I still felt the comfort of my Heavenly Father. I know that there is one person that is ready and this week we are going to help that one person become closer to their Heavenly Father.
We are teaching one girl, Gessivalda. She almost was baptized Sunday but she got all nervous and scared and she said that she didn’t want to be baptized alone. she wanted one of her friends to be baptized with her.  It is just that they didn’t want to baptized either. LIKE WHAT THE HECK!!! but this week, it´ll work out. It´s so annoying when people make fun of someone or mock some one for wanting to do something good and to follow Christ. JUST LET ME LIVE MY LIFE!!!! but anyway...I was waiting for a miracle all week so that we could have a baptism on Sunday, but during the week I starting to think and feel that I cant’ just wait for Miracles to happen, I have to work and exercise my faith so that God can do His part.
Life never will be easy, but when we have the hope and the faith and love in our Savior and in our Heavenly Father, everything will work out. Each day is a learning experience, that is helping us be more prepared to be with our Heavenly Father again, to be like He is.
Today I am in Natal to renew our Visa...sister Mulberry and I traveled together from Sousa to Natal in the middle of the night and it took 9 hours. hahaha Good times to be with her!! Love her...every since the CTM!!! haha
Pray to have missionary experiences with everyone. Always look for ways to share the gospel... you will feel happier and feel the Love of our Savior more and more each day.!!

Pray for Gessivalda, Genival, Libio, and all of the missionaries!!!
JUST BAPTIZE!!!
love you all! have a great week!!
abração!

week 46 - I finished the The Book of Mormon in Portuguese

June 20, 2016

So this week was great! we had to work really hard because on Thursday we had our Zone Conference in Caicó! it was the last Zone Conference of President and Sister Soares!! It was really sad and trunky but it was an amazing conference. I received a lot of answers to my prayers and to the problems that I have been having! One experience that I had was that of a Missionary who gave his testimony, Elder M. Fernandes, because he is going home at the end of this transfer. He started to bare his testimony about the Book of Mormon, and I just felt such a strong feeling in my heart and a confirmation that The Book of Mormon is true. It was a such a powerful surety I know that I can´t deny the truthfulness of this book. The last Saturday I finished The Book of Mormon in Portuguese so I did what Moroni asked all of us to do, to pray about and ask to know if these things are true that are written in the book of Mormon, I got my answer through the testimony of another missionary!! It was so nice to see that Heavenly Father sempra answers our prayers and that he is always caring for me. I had another experience with prayer this week. So I’m living with Sister Mulberry and sometimes we joke a little and talk in English. sister trage also knows English really well so we practice. But because of that I was losing a little bit of my Portuguese and people in the street were saying that they don’t understand me and all that. Even Sister M Silva said that...but yeah so I got a little discouraged and prayed to have the gift of tongues and to have patience with myself learning another language and all that. So this week, one day, we stopped to talk with some people in the street and at the end of the conversation one guy asked me how much time I have in Brazil and I said 10 months, and he was like woooaah no way, Would’ve thought that you had more time because of the way you talk with such fluentness...WHHATTTTT just yesterday I was talking to some girl who was saying that she didn’t understand one word that I was saying and now I´m like fluent!!! haha it really was a confidence booster and the answer to my prayers that I needed.
I will talk about some people that we are teaching...just a little cause I don’t have a lot more time. Libio and his wife Patricia! They are married legally and Libio came to church yesterday and was participating and everything and all the members were like `so when are going to be baptized...`LETS GOOO BATIZADORES!!!! haha. We haven’t taught him anything yet because we met him on Friday, but we left him a pamphlet of the Plan of Salvation because he said that his Dad passed away recently without notice, so yeah we´re going to help him and his family.
Fabiano...he came to church just because we invited him Saturday night. When we passed by his house Sunday morning he was finishing taking a shower and when he got all dressed he was like, lets go and he started to walk super rapido to church haha and then he was like some people invited me to go to a fiesta but I thought it would be better to go to church!!
We also have some other people, Joâo Victor that wants to be baptized but his mom wont let him.  Marinaldo says he´s taking his time and when Deus touched his heart he will be baptized.
We have some great people that we are teaching and we are excited for this week and for EVERYONE that came to church!!!
This week I fed a little monkey Goiaba a banana! DREAMS COME TRUE!!!!
haha LOVE YOU ALL!!! have a great week!!!

week 45 - Blessings of the gospel

June 13, 2016

Mom this week was okay!! It´s just so amazing to see the miracles that happen everyday!
Don't have a lot of time but i want to just tell what happened yesterday at church with our fast and testimony meeting! So a little bit before our testimony meeting the President of the Ramo wanted to talk to me and and the sisters...he had some things he wanted to talk to us about..just that the President of the District was there too and also the members of the Presidente of the Branch. WE had somethings to talk about. After the meeting ( I wont go into details cause it´s good to focus on the positive) my Comp, Sister M Silva was really annoyed, and I was too, but in the end I was just like you know what, it was like a wake up call for all of us, ya know to work harder and work better together with the members and the Liderança (?) but yeah that was good to see that everyone can take a negative and turn it to a positive and to use what you learned in that situation to help you be better!!
but yeah after the meeting we had testimony meeting...and let me just tell you I cried when Mariano (recent convert) shared his testimony saying that he knows Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he is so grateful to be in the true church. HE ALSO GOT A CALLING, The secretary of the young men....and he is working to get the Melquesidek Priesthood!!! AHHHHH he´s just so perfect!!! and then after Mariano, Fatima went up...SHE WAS BAPTIZED LAST WEEK AND CONFIRMED SUNDAY AND SHE WENT TO BARE HER TESTIMONY!!! It took me about 10 years to get up the courage to bare my testimony and for her it took 7 days...hahah but yeah she said that the first time that we went to her house she was like after we left, uhh no that church isn't for me I already have my own religion. And then when we went back she said that we invited her to pray about it and to ask God. She then told her experience about how when she prayed a miracle happened ( when she found that bill for the energy) and she said that she believes really that this church is true!! and when she sat down I was like almost crying my eyes out and it was just so nice to see the fruits of our labors and that my recent converts are firm in the church, getting ready to receive the blessing of the Gospel in their lives. THIS!!!  I just felt so happy to see the blessing of the Gospel in the lives of the people we are teaching and that they have a true testimony of the truth of this gospel!!!
but yeah that´s my experience of the week...HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!! LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!

Week 44 Happy Birthday Dad!

 June 6, 2016

So yeah this week was great!! we saw so many miracles that happened with the family that we baptized on Sunday. Fatima and Roberto. THEY ARE SOOO PERFECT!!!! WE visited them everyday this past week, they went to church Sunday too and they said that they loved it. So each day that we went there it was a miracle after another miracle. the Friday before Sunday (last week) we taught the Restoration and they understood and participated so well in the lesson. a the end of the lesson the accepted to be baptized the 5th of June! YASSS and then the Tuesday (day 30 of may) we went and taught the Plan of Salvation! Fatima loved it...she was all like we have to follow the path that Jesus Christ showed us to follow and all that good stuff. WE gave them a Book of Mormon (our last one that we had) and Roberto and Fatima were animados to read and learn more about it. The next day we went back and we asked them how it was reading the book of mormon and praying about the things we taught. We taught the 3rd lesson, theGospel of Jesus Christ, explained more about hows the batismo and all that. A the end of the Lesson, Fatima shared an experience that she had with her prayers. She said that she read the part that we left for her to read (2 nefi 31) and then she said her prayer and asked the questions we let for her to ask (if Joseph smith was a prophet? If the Book of Mormon is True? and If the Church of Jesus Christ is true?) and when she finished her prayer she said she had the idea to look at the scriptures in the Bible. She said she thought of the date (1/6/16) and so she went to Romans chapter 1 verse 6...and she said that was her response. When sister M Silva and I read the verse, I started to cry. It really showed me that Heavenly Father will always answer our prayers if we some unto him and ask him with an open heart and with faith. From this scripture she said that she knew she had to follow her Savior Jesus Christ. Roberto also said that he feels good about it and that he´s excited for his baptism!!!! After lesson we were walking back home because it was late and they live kinda far away (30 walking) to our house, and when we were walking I just started to sing, Senhor Meus Deus....( grandioso es tu) or in English How Great Thou Art...haha it was perfect!! I just felt so grateful to see the miracles happen in the lives of others!!! and let me just say..i cried..of course hahah!!
but yeah Sunday was their Baptism!!! It was so great!!! and after was Stake Conference!! This week was great!!
Presidente Soares was here to talk in the conference and it was all about how we need to work together, missionaries and members, to help build this District into a Stake! We need more active men with the Presithood!! MORE MEN AND FAMILIAS!!!!! LETS GOOOOO!!!!! haha
I´m excited for this coming week and to see what miracles will happen in our lives as missionaries and in the lives we are teaching!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK!! I want to challenge you all to make goals and to plan your days so you can alcançar (?) these goals!!! It´s something that i am trying to do better. Planning and setting Goals!!!
