Week 6 - Last Week in Sao Paulo MTC

I was thinking about Scott a lot this week!  Families are forever!!   (mom note: Scott went to the Palmyra Temple this week to get ready for his mission to Recife, Brazil which starts November 3rd)

Portuguese is coming along really well, we had another ingles fast this week! Man I can´t wait till my head doesn´t hurt everyday from conjugating and thinking 24/7
in another language! But through the Atonement and through hard work,
I know that the gift is tongues is real! Like seriously, I have only
been here for 5 weeks and I know so much more Portuguese than I
do from 5 years of Spanish!! Cray Cray!! Milagres!! (miracles) So I
gave a talk in church on Sunday about sincere Prayer and frequently
praying! I know I have said this before but I have never prayed so
hard and so much in my life until I got to my mission! But it has
blessed me so much...at night when I think about my day I try to
recognize the little blessings and miracles that happened that day! It
really helps to realize how much my Heavenly Father loves me and how
much I need to be grateful for...at the same time it helps me realize
how much I REALLY need the Atonement!  WE ARE NEVER ALONE PEOPLE
Alma 7: 11-12.  Alright so I cried A LOT this week!!! Ugh, sometimes I hate my
emotions but it just has been a hard week because I know I´m going to
have to say bye to all these people that I have grown to love so much!
I cry because I am sad,  but mostly because I am so grateful to have
had these people in my life! I know that they were a part of my life
for a reason, and because of them I am that much closer to my Heavenly
Father and Jesus Christ; The elders in our district sang a hymn in Portuguese.
"Come Thou Fount of every Blessing"; they performed it as a surprise to us
(my comp and our Instructor Irmã Tamiris) and it was beautiful! I
bawled like a baby because I LOVE LOVE LOVE my district and also we felt
the Spirit so strong!! This week was long but filled with so much
love! I learn something knew everyday!! I also love when we have a
lesson planned but it doesn´t even end up being that lesson at all!
The Spirit guides us to talk about something else and it just feels so
real and the Christ-like love that I have for all the people we teach
is really humbling and sometimes overwhelming! Everything I do I try
to remember to try and be like Christ, and to use Christ-like
attributes when teaching, talking with someone, or whatever! We all
should continue to act and teach others like Christ would! He is one
amazing man, that died for us! When he died for us, it wasn´t easy, he
drank that bitter cup so that we would be blessed! (3 Nephi 11:11)
I love this gospel! It brings me so much comfort and joy! I can’t believe I leave for Natal this Tuesday.

Pictures next week too!! YAYYYYYYY Eu amo vocês!!
